Cannabis š
Cannabis oil preparations have been used historically in medicine for millennia. Only recently, cannabis and chemically-related compounds have come back to being considered of beneficial value. It seems, the allopathic modality came into play, leaving the worlds ancient medicine in the dark. Religious influences have also played their part, demonization of the plant. We blame the actions and poor choices of the few, against the majority.
CBD is one of over 60 compounds found in cannabis that belong to a class of ingredients called cannabinoids. Until recently, THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) was getting most of the attention because itās the ingredient in cannabis that produces intoxicating effects in users. But CBD is also present in high concentrations ā and people are realizing the benefits.
CB2 receptors are found mostly in the immune system. Although cannabinoids all have similar structures, they have shown a wide array of actions at each of the different receptor sites.
However, CBD has very little effect on CB1 and CB2 receptors, which explains why it doesnāt have the same mind-altering effects as THC, the compound that positively regulates the CB1 receptor. Most cannabis grown for recreational purposes are typically very low in CBD and high in THC.
THC does typically come with a long list of health benefits, but the clinical use of this cannabis compound is often limited by its unwanted psychoactive side effects in people. For this reason, interest in non-intoxicating phytocannabinoids, like CBD, has increased in recent years. In fact, CBD is being used in conjunction with THC for more beneficial outcomes. CBD also appears to balance some effects of THC.
CBD oil types š
Oils- CBD oils are the most potent version with the least processing. The oil is removed directly from the flowers, stalks, seeds, of the hemp plant. These oils are the most effective, because they include all the natural compounds found in the plant. You will find these in a small, glass bottle, with eye droppers.
Taken orally. š
Tinctures- This is another way to use CBD.
Tinctures are made with alcohol and another solvent. This makes direct dosage easier.
Concentrates- similar to tinctures, CBD concentrates are ingested by placing drops under your tongue, similar to homeopathy tablets. This makes them high in potency and not ideal for beginners. You should always start with a low dose to see how your body responds.
Capsules- These can be taken with water and easily consumed. The dosage isnāt as accurate. 10-25 mg are the normal dosage.
Topical solutions- This includes lotions, salves, and lip balm. These are meant for skin, joints, and muscles. In this form, CBD easily absorbs into the skin and through dermal layers. (SKINS OUR LARGEST ORGAN)
Edibles- CBD infused deserts, coffees, gums, and candies. Itās more difficult to tell the dosage in this form.
Powders-These can be easily placed in water, smoothies, and juice.
Vape oil- Vale pen or E-Cigarettes. This isnāt the best method, the oil is heated. This method causes chemical reactions, causing toxic materials to enter the lungs.
Sprays- Another way to take CBD orally.
Like anything else, itās important to find pure, high quality CBD.
Benefits- Regulating the central nervous system, neuropathy related issues, anxiety, chronic pain, arrest cancer growth, digestive issues, anti inflammatory properties, and ect.
